Tennis stadium was built in 2001. It is situated in the territory of the Children’s park in green plantations area. The stadium consists of 6 ground tennis courts, 20-meter two-sided practice wall, tribunes for spectators designed for 600 seats, administrative building. There is maintenance staff area, recreation room and two change rooms (for men and women) with showers in the administrative building. Tennis stadium is open 6 month a year, 8.00 till 22.00 every day. Tennis players from Tarpischev tennis school occupy courts during the period of 8.00 – 17.00 o’clock. Weekends and evenings 17.00 – 22.00 o’clock are offered to all interested in playing tennis. More than 200 people attend stadium every day. In 2001 first International tennis «Futures» tournament – «Mordovia cup 2001» with prize fund of 15000 USD took place. Sportsmen from 15 different countries participated in the tournament. Since 2003 «Mordovia cup» accepted «Challenger» status and its prize fund made up 25000 USD. Children’s and adult’s tournaments among amateurs take place at the tennis complex on regular basis.
